Who is Rumble Arts?
The Rumble Arts Center is a donations based art school and community center. It is run by a small staff and many volunteers invested in bringing a financially accessible, family-oriented arts space to the neighborhood. The center is something we love to share, something we would like to consider yours as well as ours.
Where is Rumble Arts?
The center is located at 3413 w. North Ave. On the corner of North and Kimball/Homan, in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, two and a half blocks from the park itself. The primary class rooms and office space are located on the second floor. The first floor gallery is used for classes as well as special events.
How do I get there?
The North Ave. Bus #72 stops on the corner of Kimball/Homan from there walk west a little ways on North Ave. and the center will be on the south side of the street. Or take the Kimball/Homan Bus #82 to North Ave. then walk to the west. Driving directions differ depending on where you are coming from, please refer to a google map from your specific locale to 3413 W. North Ave.
How much are classes?
All classes and workshops run on a sliding scale with a suggested $5-10 donation. Any income derrived from classes is split between the center and the instructor. No one will be turned away if they cannot afford the suggested donation. However, we welcome the contributions of those who want to make a non-monetary donation of their time or supplies we can use for our classes. We occasionally host special classes or workshop series that require a higher donation or advance payment, but those will always be clearly marked.
Can I use the space to promote myself/organization/cause?
Absolutely! We are open to hosting a wide variety of special events as well as ongoing rentals of the dance studio or art room. Our costs are highly competitive and are negotiable on a case-by-case basis. For more information, please check out the "Space Rental" section of our website.
Who can take classes?
EVERYONE! Some classes are oriented towards a specific age range, but most are open to whoever takes an interest! Our instructors are friendly and willing to accomodate multiple ages and skill levels, depending on the subject of their class. We encourage families to attend classes together! Our only request is that children age 7 or younger are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What classes are offered?
We currently offer a multitude of culturally and artistically diverse classes, ranging from traditional figure drawing to break dancing to yoga to Kung Fu! Since our classes are taught by volunteer instructors, we often have to adjust our course schedule based on their availability. We try to offer as many ongoing classes in the same time slot as possible, but we recommend checking our current schedule in the "Classes" section of the website or calling ahead for the latest information!
How do I get in touch with Rumble Arts?

Does Rumble Arts accept donations, and if so what kind?
Graciously! Monetary donations of any size are greatly appreciated, as are art supplies, office supplies, paper of all types, construction supplies, furniture, art books, children's books, printing services, lamps, and many items we have yet to realize we need! Also, please know that donating your time is a great way of supporting our endeavor. We have a wide variety of projects to plug volunteers into and would love to hear from you today!
What else do you offer besides classes?
Since its inception, Rumble Arts has been the home to many exciting events. These have included a "Really Free Market" where folks could donate items and partake from the donations of others, a monthly "Carnivale" event, and "Samurai Sundays" where we would provide free pizza and screen a martial arts movie. We have also hosted workshops, talent showcases, DJ nights, fundraisers, comedy shows, and much more. Is there something fun you'd like to see happen at Rumble? Just ask!
